03-day Review workshop on two handbooks w.e.f. 22nd Feb. to 25th Feb. 2023.
Department of Art and Vocational Education State Council of Educational Research and Trainings SCERT J&K Divisional Office Kashmir organized a 3-day review workshop on two handbooks containing guidelines and activities for 10 bagless days from 22nd February 2023. These two Handbooks contain various activities for children from classes 1st
to 5th and classes from 5th to 8th and serve as part of the curriculum as well as
guidelines for bagless days. These activities will be very useful for children
during ten badgeless days. As
per guidelines of NEP 2020 Task No 92 NEP Para 4.23 to 4.29 a handbook
containing guidelines for 10 Bagless days and details of fun courses including
activities using toys, games, quizzes, etc. is to be developed for grades 1st
to 12th. NEP guidelines further say, that “the vocational craft to
be implemented in different parts/schools of the state/UT will be decided by
states and local communities and as mapped by local skilling needs. It also
says that a handbook will be developed by both NCERT and SCERT in
collaboration with concerned experts from different institutions for conducting
various fun activities in grades 1st to 12th, including
vocational crafts and activities to be undertaken by using indigenous toys,
quizzes, puzzles, indigenous games, etc. interlinked with the curriculum. The handbook
will also have guidelines for implementing bagless days for students in
schools. We divided this important assignment into three separate phases. First
based on fun and joyful activities, including toys, games, and quizzes for
classes 1st to 5th, second based on pre-vocational
activities having vocational touch, for classes 6th to 8th,
and third for classes 9th to 12th based on different Vocational courses.
